Received and installed on the same day. I replaced an older unit that had a smaller screen and didn't have as many features as the 1byone.I like the wide angle view and that it records who is at your door. Also the convenience of only needing two wires for operation means most users can install using existing wiring . The picture is really crisp and night viewing is pretty good.Only reason for my 4 star instead of 5 is that there is no lit button on outside unit, although in my case it didn't matter much because I have a dusk to dawn lit porch.
I am an unbiased reviewer.
It is clearly seen and heard well. Cons: no infrared LEDs, white. When a customer calls in his face shine six bright LEDs. Call Button rattles.
I decided to get the upgraded version with color camera and recording ability. It was simple to install, connect 2 wires and power plug. It has a nice presentation and even though I also installed an expensive front door, the door bell is the conversation piece. So far a few weeks working and no issues.
After a few post office problems I finally got it. I installed the item using my old wiring due to difficulties involve if I use the new insulated wire because my front gate is about 200 feet from my front door. The old wiring is not properly insulated, therefore I have a little noise on audio and as well as video.
Otherwise I am very satisfied with the product. However in the future I will try to figure out how to run the insulated wire that came with it.
This unit works as advertised .I thought it had a motion sensor in the out door unit but it does not. That is my fault I did not read the description of unit right. It does work very well. The pictures are very clear and in color and the sound is very clear. The unit is made of metal for the out side unit and should last a long time. The install was easy, drilled one small hole in the wall to feed the cable thru hook up the cable on both ends and plug monitor in to the wall plug and that was it.You should mount the outside unit to a wood wall if you can drilling holes in brick is very hard to do unless you can drill in the concrete between the bricks. I installed mine to a brick wall but it took a while.I am very pleased with the unit and would recommend it as buy.
I actually had a model unit one step older than this one. It seemed great at first, but the sound completely failed just after a year. No more warranty, and they discontinued it so there's no help to get fixing it. Expect to be buying a new one every year.
I NEEDED A DOOR BELL REPLACEMENT FOR MY APT. AND SECURITY FOR MY GATE IN FRONT. AFTER CHECKING OUT WHAT WAS OFFERED I SELECTED 1BYONE AND WAS SUPRISE BY THE QUALITY OF THE 7' SCREEN AND THE DOOR CAMERA PICTURE. THE INSTALL WAS A LITTLE TRICKY WITH THE MONITOR POWER SUPPLY AND WAS SOLVED BUY ADDING ANOTHER WIRE FROM THE SELENOID TO THE MONITOR. AFTER THE FIRST INSTALL I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE VALUE AND APPERANCE I ORDER ANOTHER FOR MY OTHER DOOR AND CUT THE INSTALL TIME IN HALF. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT VALUE PRODUCT. I AM AN UNBIASED REVIEWER FOR THIS PRODUCT
If you are willing to put up with existing unshielded CAT wiring to the door bell it demands, it still does an excellent job. I did not use the wiring that came with the kit, but used wiring (CAT5) preexisting for another door bell. If starting from scratch (frame exposed), I would use shielded cable between the transmitter and the TV to help eliminate the horizontal black noise that appears on the screen. I live in a single family residence with only one door bell (transmitter). Skipping the barrel distortion of the lens due to its very large view angle, everything works fine. The noise is infrequent, minimal and doesn't impair the image that much. The path of power starts at the TV, goes to the transmitter, and back again. I would say I'm using about 40' of CAT6. I also use it to unlatch the front gate successfully. I recommend the product.
recently installed 4/2016, easy to use installation was done by an electrician and he explained it was easy, screen is large so you can clearly see the image and hear over the intercom. It also has a memory card to save any images, currently I'm only using the door, camera and video. Not using the lock or release gate. When viewing on the tablet you can very clear images I can almost 24 feet. Over all I'm satisfied, and recommend this product.
