Instructions for Home Measurement:

Notice:Rest for at least 5 minutes before measuring, and 3 minutes between measurements to allow blood circulation to recover.

Sit down in a comfortable, upright position, with legs uncrossed and feet flat.

Straighten your left arm (or arm closest to your heart) with palm facing up, making sure to support the arm on a table.

Place the monitor's cuff around the upper arm, with the cuff's tube positioned off-center towards the inner side of the arm (in line with your pinky finger).

The blood pressure monitor should not be too tight or too loose, meaning you should be able to insert one finger between the cuff and arm.

Taking 2-3 deep breaths before beginning the measurement.

Press"Start" and the monitor will automatically turn on and start the blood pressure test, with results following30 seconds later.

Why do I seem to get different blood pressure readings at home than in the hospital clinic?

Blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day due to weather, emotion, exercise, etc. There is also the "white coat" effect, meaning some patients' blood pressures will increase in a clinical setting due to anxiety.

Large Cuff: 8.75 inch-16.5 inch

Rated cuff pressure: 0mmHg~300mmHg(0kPa~40kPa)

Measurement pressure:

SYS: 60mmHg~230mmHg (8.0kPa~30.7kPa) DIA:40mmHg~130mmHg (5.3kPa~17.3kPa)

Pulse value: 40-199 beat/minute

awesome device

works wonderfully. just make sure you don't wrap it too tight around your arm because it gets very tight otherwise im so glad I brought it as high blood pressure runs in my family and I need to keep track of mine. also it does not come with batteries which it probably states that but I must have looked over it

Cuff too short

I got this for my grandma in another state. She said that it must be a toy or for a child because the blood pressure cuff is too short to get around her arm properly. She wanted to return it but couldn't figure out how to get it back in the box due to arthritis in one hand. So, she said she'd make it work. She also complained that it was only for one arm. This was a big deal tobher because of only one hand being able to function properly.

Inaccurate

Inaccurate BP readings. Readings are not consistent and can vary as much as 10 points systolicly. I am an ER nurse and have compared the readings of this machine with manual readings and cardiac monitor readings. Terribly inaccurate. Search elsewhere.

Good and consistent readings, but watch out for electrical interference!

I needed another bp monitor because I got too large for the cuff of my bp monitor. I checked all the reviews and prices. I chose the1byone bp monitor. The day after I received it, I had it checked at a heart rehab facility. These people had to know their stuff. The 1byone read consistently 30 points higher on the systolic than their bp monitors. It was checked repeatedly for about an hour. It was very consistently high on its reading. I was disappointed and was going to send it back till I read the manual again. I figured out the interference of the patient's monitors affected the 1byone bp monitor as stated in the manual. I checked it against my old bp monitor and they both were within 4 points of each other on a consistent basis. Occasionally the old bp monitor would get a crazy reading but, the 1byone was very consistent.

This is a very nice and affordable thing to have in any medical kit!

I love this monitor. I am pregnant and due in June, and I like to keep an eye on things, not to mention have it handy if we need it. This is very nice for that. The cuff goes on easily. It fits well. When you put it on and press start/stop, the arm band begins inflating. It does get pretty tight. But the monitor is backlit, and it doesn't take long. It also tells you where you fall on the chart as to high, medium, or low. The numbers are nice and big. I really like it. It does take batteries, but I really figure they would last a while as it doesn't really use alot of power to operate. Very nice to have in any med kit. Very high quality!
