Touchpad almost unusable
I regret this purchase because the touchpad is unreliable. I should have verified that the device came with configuration software (such as is preinstalled on laptops for integrated touchpads). The touchpad is too sensitive to spurious inputs. The left/right button zones are not configurable. Multi-finger gestures (like scrolling) require the fingers to be spaced apart (whereas with all other trackpads I have used, the natural spacing between fingertips is sufficient.) Worst of all, tap-to-click cannot be disabled. Several times while typing this review the cursor spontaneously repositioned elsewhere in the text. Many times I have inadvertently changed the browser zoom instead of scrolling. Windows 10 also lacks the ability to configure a touchpad (except for touch delay, which does not help).
At least there is a toggle switch on the device to disable the trackpad entirely. Perhaps if Mr. Miyagi had taught me crane-typing style I wouldn't have these problems.
Like it and works as expected
This was for my wife's tablet. She seem to really like it but I was a little disappointed it didn't have little feet that folded out to prop up the back side. I missed this in the description but it's not that big of a deal. I'll just use some sugru to make little bumpers about a half inch high. That's all it needs.
i like it all except the mouse
I bought this to use next to my lap top with a external monitor since i am usto using a small keyboard, i like it all except the mouse, it runs all over the place and opens windows you don't want.minimizes windows your working on, exc i do not like a external mouse but that the only way that i can see this will work. i e-mailed the company to see if i could turn off the pinch a zoom and 2 and 3 finger swipe which i believe is where the problem is, the company said it cant be done so the only option is to use a external mouse. would try it on my I -pad but it will not work on that either.
I really liked the form of the keyboard but it should last ...
I purchased this device on Sept 24th, 2016. It stopped working yesterday, first the back space and space bar stopped working and then the blue tooth is not recognized by my computer. I have charged it, turned the computer on and and off and restarted it and checked the bluetooth settings in the laptop. I really liked the form of the keyboard but it should last more than 5 months.
I had planned to purchase the same keyboard for my gear bag but will search for a more reliable device.
Maybe you will have better luck with your purchase from Amazon.
A nice all-in-one touchpad and keyboard solution for bluetooth enabled devices
With my growing collection of devices connected to my TV, I wanted something more akin to a laptop keyboard/trackpad to control them. I've used this keyboard with my Steam Link and Shield TV and it's worked beautifully with both, for the most part. The keys have a solid feel and good amount of travel considering how flat they are (chiclet style) and the trackpad is responsive. One oddity I've noticed when connected to either of the two devices mentioned above is if anything gets in the line of sight, the trackpad can become unresponsive, which is pretty strange for a bluetooth device being used ten feet away from the device.
The keyboard also has the ability to switch between Windows and Android modes. Switching to Android mode fully enables the Android system navigation keys you'll need and it's great that it was included on this device.
This device charges with a micro USB port (cable included, but no power adapter) and lasts a long time on a charge. I can't provide an estimate as it's still chugging away after I've only charged it once, but I haven't used it extensively for long sessions at this point. Still, it's clear that the battery life is more than adequate.
Pairing the device was also extremely easy and yielded no issues.
If you're looking to add a little more input options to a device connected to your TV or just want something to control your computer wirelessly from a distance (as long as your computer has bluetooth), this keyboard is a good choice. The only things holding it back slightly are the aforementioned issue with the signal occasionally being blocked when something is between it and the host device and it also would have been nice if it had actual mouse buttons instead of clicky touchpad instead. Overall, recommended.
Updated Review
Previously had a problem and made mention of it in my original review. As a result, 1byone sought me out and corrected the problem by replacing the product at no cost. No doubt, this company stands behind their products 100% and I'm comfortable knowing that I would purchase from them again.
Does what it's supposed to do but the shift key keeps falling off. Glued it back on but a week later it's off again. You won't realize how much you use your shift key until it's not there.
I’m pleased with this little keyboard
I’m pleased with this little keyboard. I got it to replace my failed “Great Shield” kybrd for my ASUS VIVIO SmartTab (windows). I removed the magnetically attached keyboard from the Great shield cover/case. The 1byOne keybrd magnetically clicked into place. Read the pairing instructions and Viola! The touchpad is a boon not available on the old one either. Battery charges fast and lasts.
Just for grins I paired it with my ASUS old Nexus 7 (android). Works great. Today it’s on sale for less than I paid a few days ago. If you’re considering it, now is the time to jump.
Cons: If I’d paid 4 times as much then I’d find something to whine about even if it was global warming. What more can one ask for in this price range?
so annoying wish it was touch screen scrolling getting confused when ...
Pros: light, small, battery life
Con: touch pad for mouse. it has a mind of its own. It will just minimize the window when I just try to move it. Or it will title the windows the mouse just does not follow your gestures all the time. Why is it mouse scrolling direction? so annoying wish it was touch screen scrolling getting confused when I use my surface keypad and switch to this one back and forth.
Perfect for my needs.
works perfectly. Prolly gonna buy another one for my wife's tablet. we are now sharing one. I am really happy with the feel and the looks. Can now feel comfortable leaving my laptop home and taking my tablet along on trips.
Good keyboard for the price
I recently purchased a Lenovo multimedia remote to connect to my computer connected to my tv. I liked it, it did the job but it lacked practicality specially when typing. Thats where the 1 by one bluetooth came into play im able to use it about 20 feet away with a 3.0 bluetooth connection. The touchpad is accurate and the gestures are useful. Connecting it was simple the battery has yet to run out since the full initial charge, about 2 months ago. At under $20.00 i would definitely recommend this keyboard.
